Nazreen - Caring Supports Team Member

At Caring Supports, our team is what makes us who we are. We sat down with Nazreen, one of our wonderful support workers, to hear about her journey and what keeps her passionate about the work she does.

How long has Nazreen been working as a support worker?

Nazreen has been a support worker for 8 years now. She mentioned that she has learned so much along the way from all the different providers she’s worked with. “I’ve been with Caring Supports for 4 years, and it’s been a journey I wouldn’t trade for anything”.

What keeps you showing up even on the hard days?

Nazreen tells us how she loves working. She is not someone who loves staying at home! “I do this for my family, and for my own health and wellbeing”. She says that seeing people every day and knowing she can make a difference in their lives is what keeps her going. She says “When I help someone with their everyday chores and I see that smile on their face, it makes me smile too”.

What has this role taught you about people?

“Not everyone is the same,” Nazreen says. Every single person she supports has different needs, and that’s something this job has really taught her. You can’t take a one-size-fits-all approach with people, and she’s learned to really see and listen to each individual.

How has being a support worker changed you as a person?

Nazreen has always been a loving and caring person. “This role has made me even more empathetic and has changed the way I think”. She mentions that she wakes up every morning and checking in on the people she supports really puts things into perspective. She says that it makes you realise how often we cry over little things that don’t really matter. She tries to wake up every day feeling grateful, and focus on helping the people who need us.

Thank you Nazreen!

For everything you do for our participants and for being such a valued part of the Caring Supports family!
