The Provider Born from Frustration with "Business as Usual"
Curious how Caring Supports came to be? It started with Catherine Duffy, a Local Area Coordinator who kept encountering the same heartbreaking pattern: NDIS participants being treated as numbers on spreadsheets rather than the remarkable individuals they are. Support workers scrolling through phones instead of engaging. Providers prioritising profits over people.
In 2020, armed with Irish heritage values of genuine welcome (what her grandmother called “céad míle fáilte” – a hundred thousand welcomes) and a determination to make disability support actually supportive, Catherine founded Caring Supports. The vision was simple yet revolutionary: create an NDIS provider where consistent faces deliver consistent care, where participants’ stories matter, and where support feels less like a service and more like family.
Today, we’re proud that 60% of our participants have been with us since day one. That’s not just a statistic; it’s dozens of families who trust us with their daily lives, their challenges, and their victories. From our office on Able Street in Penrith, our family-owned team serves participants across St Marys, Mount Druitt, Rooty Hill, and throughout Western Sydney. We’re still the provider who answers the phone when you call, remembers your preferences, and celebrates when you achieve goals others said were impossible. Because at Caring Supports, there’s always room for one more at our table.
